On February 03,1945,the 11th Airborne Division of Lt. Gen. William Krueger's 8th Army airdropped military supplies and personnel on the Tagaytay Ridge amidst enemy groundfire. Their mission: to secure Tagaytay City and guarantee the easy flow of troops and supplies to Manila,an action later proved as significantto the Manila Liberation. A marker was made at the Silang Crossing to honor the event.
How to get there:
Cavite is very accessible from Manila. Public transport is available from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Buses going to Cavite load and unload passengers at Vito Cruz corner Harrizon St. FX taxis are parked a short distance away.
