Gubat Bay   (Legazpi City, Albay, Luzon)

Gubat Bay in Sorsogon is three kilometers of white-sand beach almost free of sharp coral grits. Measuring 620 kilometers south of Manila and 63 km from Legazpi City's airport in Albay,it faces the San Juanico Strait on the southeastern edge of the Bicol Peninsula. The beach has waves to offer even when it is not surf season, although good waves come in the stormy months of October to December. It is generally safe to surf here since it is not a coral reef. However,it can be dangerous to the uninformed because this is where the sea currents converge, creating strong undercurrents. One can learn how to handle the situation by observing the color of the water. Gubat Bay offers a variety of water sports beyond that expected of a regular beach. It has been attracting fun-loving people since early this year when they introduced skim boarding and water surfing.
