Although not as popular and not close to the spectacular grandeur of the 2000-year old Hagdan-Hagdang Palayan ng Banaue more commonly known as Banaue Rice Terraces,referred to by Filipinos as the "Eighth Wonder of the World" Bolikewkew Rice Terraces is an accessible alternative. With farming as the main livelihood of the townspeople of Burgos,La Union it can be seen in the green fields that manage to soothe and de-stress. The rice fields are located at Bolikewkew,Delles,Burgos. The mountains surrounding these terraces are good venues for hiking and mountain climbing.
Getting there…
By air:
One may opt to take a plane from lands which lands directly in San Fernando City.
By land:
There are several buses that pass through la union. Although the ride may be quite long,because of all the stopovers,sometimes it is simpler to hire a private vehicle or take ones own. Travel time by bus is 6-8 hours by car,4-5.
