The Macho temple is one of La Unions landmarks showcasing the city's strong Chinese infuence. Believed to be the only one built with five gates, the temple sits on a promontory north of the town proper of San Fernando and overlooks the San Fernando Bay. The temple enshrines the image of the Virgin of Caysasay, the patroness of the Filipino-Chinese residents. Those interested in more of the Filipino-Chinese history,or those who simply love to visit temples and admire their architecture should also take the time to see the Filipino-Chinese Pagoda, another one of La Unions major attractions.
