Bacsil Bridge   (San Fernando, La Union, Luzon)

Bacsil Bridge

    Bacsil Bridge is 9 kilometers northeast of San Fernando town proper traversing the San Fernando-Bagulin Road. It was the last stronghold of the retreating Japanese Imperial Army in the province and during the 1945 liberation,constituted the East Flank of the 121st Infantry of the United States Armed Forces in the Philippines,Northern Luzon (USAFIP,NL).

Getting there…

By air:
    One may opt to take a plane from lands which lands directly in San Fernando City.

By land:
    There are several buses that pass through la union. Although the ride may be quite long,because of all the stopovers,sometimes it is simpler to hire a private vehicle or take ones own. Travel time by bus is 6-8 hours by car,4-5.
