Probably the "easiest" and most relaxing way to trek up to the 2.6 kilometer radius crater of Mt. Pinatubo,is via Barangay Sta. Juliana,in the town of Capas,in Tarlac province. Cemented roads lead to a spa resort called Pinatubo Spa Town,that offers a unique combination of Shiatzu and Thai body massage,Volcanic Ash Spa,volcanic mud wrap,and reasonably good Korean and Filipino dishes from its restaurant. This resort is about 20 kilometers from the MacArthur Highway turn-off,where it directs one to the Capas Death March Shrine and Tower.

    From this resort,the Crater is about 30 plus kilometers away. The Local Government of Capas,along with the resort and 4x4 club of Capas,have organized a 4x4 ride that reduces the trekking to only 40 minutes in the dry season,and 2 hours in the wet season (when the river cannot be crossed directly).

    Along the way to the Pinatubo Volcano Crater,which is filled with emerald green water (not fit for swimming),one can visit an authentic Aeta (indigenous people of Mt. Pinatubo) Village,and take a bath in a natural Hot Spring.

    Mt. Pinatubo erupted on June 14,1991. It is the "home" of the Aeta God,Apo Mallari. The crater straddles 3 provinces: Zambales,Pampanga and Tarlac.

The following are the highlights one will experience in this Trek:

- Panoramic view of the 2.5 km wide crater with its emerald green water lake
- Clean brooks of fresh water
- Natural Sulfuric paste found beneath mountain walls
- Forest animals like wild chicken,native Iguanas and snakes
- Hot spring pool
