Laguna Day Tour

Laguna is bound by nature and culture.  It is known for its relaxing hot springs and resorts.  But if you want to stray away from the usual hot springs itinerary, then we highly recommend that you visit these towns to see Laguna in a different light.

Pila

Pila is located in the southern shores of Laguna in a place called Pagalagan. By May 2000,the town was declared as a National Historical Landmark by the National History Institute.

Pila's St. Anthony of Padua church, the first Antonine church becomes the first stop for pilgrims and devotees. It bears the mark of the characteristic of 19th century architecture. Around it are colonial houses and fabled municipal buildings which still stand remarkably after all these years.

Besides the Pila church,Rizal Street offers an architectural feast of old Hispanic houses and a museum that holds the town's artifacts and relics. It is open to the public from 8am to 5pm and a minimal fee of P5 is charged for children while P10 for adults.

Pagsanjan

15 minutes away from Pila is a town called Pagsanjan. The native delicacies of this town will surely leave your taste buds asking for more. Named after herself,"Aling Emma's Kakanin and Special Pasalubong" has been in business for more than 50 years. Emma Zalameda Aguilar owns and runs her own business which sells the best "kakanin" in the area.

The best halo-halo can be bought from "Aling Taleng's Halo-halo." The secret ingredient, which is the tumbong ng niyog is what gives the halo-halo its unique flavor. Each glass is sold for P40.

The best home cooked meal can bought at "Emcee's Binalot sa Dahon." This restaurant has been in business for 15 years and is known for their Binagoongan and tocino.

Lumban
